AI Birth Chart Reading

Real astronomy, readable interpretation. Swiss Ephemeris calculates your exact chart; AI turns it into a plain-language reading of your actual placements — starting free.

How it works: deterministic math, then interpretation

A MySkyChart reading has two distinct stages, and it is worth being precise about which is which. Stage one is pure astronomy: the Swiss Ephemeris — the same calculation library professional astrology software uses — computes your chart from your birth date, time, and place. Planet positions to the degree and minute, house cusps, aspects and their orbs, retrogrades. This stage is deterministic. Run it a thousand times and you get the same chart a thousand times, and it will match what any competent astrologer's software produces from the same data.

Stage two is interpretation: a large language model writes your reading. Crucially, it does not guess or generalize — it is given your computed chart as its source material and writes about your specific placements. If your Mars is at 3° Scorpio in the 6th house square your Sun, that is what gets interpreted, not a horoscope-column paragraph about Aries energy.

Keeping these stages separate is the honest way to do AI astrology. The math is verifiable fact about where the planets were. The interpretation is a reading of what those positions have traditionally meant — informed, structured, and personal to your chart, but interpretation nonetheless, just as it would be from a human astrologer.

What's in a reading

Readings are written for people who do not already speak astrology. Every placement is named precisely — sign, house, degree — and then explained in plain English: what this placement tends to look like in a real life, where its strengths and friction points are, and how it interacts with the rest of your chart. No jargon walls, no assuming you know what a square is before it has been explained.

You read your reading in the app, section by section, and you can also download it as a formatted HTML file or a PDF — yours to keep, print, or share. After reading, you can rate it; ratings feed directly into how we improve the interpretation quality over time.

  • Interpretation grounded in your exact degrees, houses, and aspects
  • Plain-language writing aimed at beginners, precise enough for enthusiasts
  • Delivered in-app plus downloadable HTML and PDF
  • Rate your reading — feedback shapes ongoing quality improvements

Three tiers: Light (free), Full ($15), Expert ($35)

The Light reading is free with your account and covers the core of your chart — the placements that matter most for a first orientation, interpreted from your exact data. It is a genuine reading, not a sample paragraph with a buy button.

The Full reading ($15) works through your chart placement by placement: every planet in its sign and house, your Ascendant and Midheaven, and the major aspects, each explained and connected. It is the tier for someone who wants to actually understand their whole chart.

The Expert reading ($35) adds depth and synthesis: closer attention to aspect patterns, chart emphasis, and how the pieces of your chart combine into larger themes rather than a list of parts. Every tier is a one-time purchase for a specific chart — there is no subscription, and the free calculator and Light reading never expire into a paywall.

Why AI for this — and where it's better (and isn't)

Interpreting a full natal chart by hand is hours of skilled work, which is why traditional professional readings cost hundreds of dollars and generic websites paste together canned paragraphs instead. AI changes that trade-off: a reading that engages with your actual placements, written coherently from start to finish, at a price closer to a paperback than a consultation.

Where AI is genuinely strong: consistency, coverage (nothing gets skipped because the hour ran out), plain-language explanation, and synthesis across many placements at once. Where a human astrologer still has the edge: live dialogue about your life context, and the judgment that comes from years of client work. We do not claim to replace that — we claim to make a serious, personal chart reading accessible to people who would otherwise get either nothing or boilerplate.

If you want the dialogue part too, paid tiers include chart-aware chat: you can ask follow-up questions about your own chart and get answers that cite your actual placements. See the AI astrologer page for how that works.

A tool for self-reflection, not a script for your life

Be clear-eyed about what astrology is and is not. Your reading describes tendencies, themes, and archetypes that astrological tradition associates with your placements. It is a mirror for self-reflection — often a surprisingly productive one — not a deterministic prediction of what will happen to you or a substitute for your own choices.

We write readings accordingly: no doom-mongering about "bad" placements, no promises that a trine will deliver a promotion, and no medical, legal, or financial advice dressed up in planetary language. Placements traditionally read as difficult are framed as growth areas and tensions to work with, because that is both kinder and closer to how thoughtful astrologers actually read charts.

If a reading resonates, use it as a lens: a structured way to ask questions about your patterns, needs, and blind spots. If a section does not resonate, discard it without guilt. You are the authority on your life; the chart is a conversation starter with unusually good production values.

Frequently asked questions

Is the AI reading actually based on my chart?

Yes. Your chart is first calculated with the Swiss Ephemeris — exact degrees, houses, aspects, retrogrades — and the AI is given those computed placements as the source material for your reading. It interprets your specific chart, not a generic sun-sign template.

What's the difference between the Light, Full, and Expert readings?

Light (free) interprets the core placements of your chart. Full ($15) covers every planet, sign, house, and major aspect placement by placement. Expert ($35) adds aspect patterns and whole-chart synthesis. All are one-time purchases per chart — no subscription.

Do I get to keep my reading?

Yes. Readings live in your account in the app, and you can download them as formatted HTML or PDF files to keep, print, or share.

I'm new to astrology — will I understand it?

That is the design goal. Readings name each placement precisely, then explain it in plain English without assuming prior knowledge. Terms like houses and aspects are explained as they come up.

Can the reading predict my future?

No, and we don't pretend otherwise. A reading describes tendencies and themes traditionally associated with your placements — useful for self-reflection, not deterministic prediction. It is not medical, legal, or financial advice.

Do I need to pay to get anything?

No. The birth chart calculator is free without an account, and a free account includes the Light reading. Paid readings exist only if you want more depth, and there is no recurring charge.

What does your own chart say?
